Our Lab staff is composed by Post Doctoral fellows, undergraduate, MSD and PhD students.
Our studies are carried out with tissue culture. Cell lines are analyzed by morphological techniques, functional assays, biochemical and molecular biology methods.
Morphological techniques are: immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, electron microscopy, and 4D microscopy (confocal and widefield followed by deconvolution, softwares Metamorph and Volocity).
Functional assays are migration and invasion (time lapse, Transwell e Neuroprobe) , proliferation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, protease activity, and invadopodia formation in fluorescent substrate.
Biochemical methods are protein electrophoresis, immunoblot, zymography, protein purification in affinity columns, and phase solid assays. Protein characterization by mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF e LC-MS/MS) is also carried out in National and International Facilities. Molecular biology approach involves small interference RNA (siRNA), and analysis of differential gene expression by microarrays.
