 +The main research interests of this group are the study of cellular DNA repair processes and their biological consequences (such as mutagenesis and cell death). The DNA repair lab has developed viral systems related to gene transduction to cells and/or organisms, aiming XP gene therapy, and, recently, this group is using RNAi tools for the understanding the cell responses to genome aggression, in animal cells. Considering the high levels of conservation of DNA repair genes in all living organisms, this group also investigates how these processes occur in plants and in bacteria. These studies also allow an evolutive approach [[research]] projects.

Research Project
